Father Christmas Needs a Wee by Nicholas Allan

My Review

I really wanted to get this book review out a whole lot sooner but I couldn’t manage to find the book anywhere, because my daughter loved it so much she had booknapped it!! Nicholas Allan I’m sure puts smiles on faces everywhere with his hilarious books but Father Christmas Needs a Wee’s full on silliness will have you giggling out loud along with your little one! It is fabulously fun, wonderfully illustrated and has an amazing rhyming quality to it! Best of all it has SANTA, which is most probably why my daughter was keeping it safely hidden! There is also 2 lessons for little people – a fun way to learn to count and also not to drink too much or you will need to go to the loo, if you are a parent I’m sure you know all too well this is something you are sick saying, lol!… Read more >>>

Cinderella's Bum by Nicholas Allan

My Review

We simply adore Nicholas Allan’s wonderfully humourous books and Cinderella’s Bum is no exception! This is yet again another witty, wonderful and highly entertaining instalment from the author that we thoroughly enjoyed reading! I think Allan’s books really do stand out from the crowd and everyone needs to experience one for themselves to really see what I’m talking about. The illustrations are brilliantly bright, bold and attractive and the storyline itself has a fab little message for little ones! It subtly lets kids know that everyone is different shapes and sizes and it really is OK to be different from others!… Read more >>>

On The Cover is a feature I am going to do every(ish) Friday, Where I pick one book cover that sticks out, is really interesting or just beautiful. I think the cover of a book is very important, it’s the first thing a person sees and some of the time it’s the reason why a person will pick a book up and read the back. I will just pick a book that catches my eye from throughout the week.

Waiting on Wednesday #35

,

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
This week’s pre-publication “can’t-wait-to-read” selection is:

Summary
1. Never trust anyone.

2. Remember they are always searching.

3. Don’t get involved.

4. Keep your head down.

5. Don’t fall in love.

Five simple rules. Ariane Tucker has followed them since the night she escaped from the genetics lab where she was created, the result of combining human and extraterrestrial DNA. Ariane’s survival—and that of her adoptive father—depends on her ability to blend in among the full-blooded humans in a small Wisconsin town, to hide in plain sight at her high school from those who seek to recover their lost (and expensive) “project.”

But when a cruel prank at school goes awry, it puts her in the path of Zane Bradshaw, the police chief’s son and someone who sees too much.

My Review

Wow, just wow! This is a really stunningly beautiful book that easily captures and holds the readers attention. Inside are 7 delightful short stories that are extremely imaginative and fabulously written! I loved each of them but my favourite would have to be Catch a Falling World because of it’s funny little outcome! All of the stories are so different from each other, I loved the quirkiness but best of all I loved the illustrations! Quentin Blake’s illustrations are easily recognisable because of his unique style, they are simply beautiful and tell a story all on their own! I’m not really sure what age range this book is aimed at but I would easily recommend it to adults and children alike.… Read more >>>

The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas by Tom Fletcher & Dougie Poynter

My Review

The Dinosaur that Pooped Christmas is a fantastic book that really is laugh out loud funny! I’m a huge fan of rhyming books especially funny ones and this book manages to tick all the boxes and is a hoot for reading out loud! My daughter loved it so much she begged me to let her bring it to nursery school because she just wanted to share the fabulous Pooping Dino with others! There is also a fab little message for little ones in here about being too greedy! The illustrations are marvelous and capture the story perfectly! I think this is a wonderfully thought out and written picture book from 2 of the McFly boys and it is the perfect Christmas book for our favourites shelf!… Read more >>>
