Back to Books - Giveaway Hop

2nd Annual Back to the Book Giveaway Hop
Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer
& Buried in Books

Can you believe it’s September already? Where or where did our summer go? All I’ve seen is rain here in Northern Ireland, so not much of a summer. Usually the weather picks up when the kids go back to school, which sucks!  Anyway, I hope you had a great summer wherever in the world you are. I thought I would celebrate back to school with a little giveaway.

Below is the Rafflecopter to be filled out, this giveaway is open internationally as long as The Book Depo ships to you (click here to check).

Foxy by Emma Dodd

My Review

YAY, we love Foxy! This is a charming little story that is great for kids that are starting school for the very first time. Foxy will put smiles on people of all ages with it’s silliness and illustrations which are are simply delightful, they are vibrant, full of fun and really attractive. I think the storyline is brilliant, it puts a little bit of fun into the nervousness that surrounds starting school. Emma Dodd’s writing is fresh, fun and exciting!  If you have the pleasure of picking up Foxy yourself, you really will be in for a real treat.… Read more >>>

The Hueys in the New Jumper by Oliver Jeffers

My Review

I found it nearly impossible to pry this book away from my daughter as she likes to sleep with it safely tucked under her pillow. Anything by Oliver Jeffers my daughter falls in love with, she can even spot the illustrations he does in other books, The Terrible Thing That Happened to Barnaby Brocket for example, which was a little surprising, she is obviously a super fan! The Hueys is another fabulous instalment from Mr Jeffers, who’s unique style always manages to put a smile on our faces. The Hueys are quirky little people that are very funny and quite charming.… Read more >>>

Jessica Grant knows vampires only too well. She runs the York Council tracker programme making sure that Otherworlders are all where they should be, keeps the filing in order and drinks far too much coffee. But when a demon turns up and threatens not just Jess but the whole world order, she and Sil are forced to work together, and when Jess turns out to be the key to saving the world it puts a very different slant on their relationship.Read more >>>

The Giant's Loo Roll by Nicholas Allan

My Review

This is the second Nicholas Allan book we have had the pleasure of reading and it’s really clear to see that he has a knack for writing hilariously! We were laughing out loud the whole way through this delightful read. The storyline is fabulous and the whole book rhymes in a sing song way, which makes reading out loud a real barrel of laughs. I adore the illustrations, they are bright, bold, colourful and full of character. A new favourite for us to read again and again, I don’t think it will ever get old.

One day whole sitting on the loo, a giant’s toilet roll just rolled away.… Read more >>>
