Splintered by A.G. Howard

This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality.

Dave by Sue Hendra & Liz Pichon‏

My Review

We actually giggled to our sides were sore at the super hilarious Dave!

This book has the most superb illustrations that are so eye catching that you will find it hard to look away! Dave is such a greedy old fellow that we absolutely adored reading about!

This story follows Dave the cat and the problems he faces when he actually gets stuck in his own cat flap! All the other animals try everything and anything to get him out but had no luck. Until someone feeds him full of beans and I’m pretty sure you can imagine the results…..… Read more >>>

My Review

This is such a funny little book with such a great message! I think nearly everybody will know a spoilt child just like Prince Charmless – I know I do!

People say the more you do for some people, the more they will want and nothing will ever be good enough – well that statement sums up little Prince Charmless perfectly. He is such a rude boy who just wants the world and is a bit mean to the people who are just trying to help him.

But when he pushes his servants too far one day, he will see some very shocking results indeed…..… Read more >>>
