Interview with Samantha Young (Echoes of Scotland Street)

Echoes of Scotland StreetSummary from Goodreads

From the bestselling author of On Dublin Street, ‘Scotland’s EL James’ (Sunday Post) comes a seductive story of forgiving the past and making up for lost time….

Shannon MacLeod has always gone for the wrong type of man. After she drifted from one toxic relationship to the next, her last boyfriend gave her a wake-up call in the worst possible way. With her world shattered, she’s sworn off men – especially those of the bad-boy variety.

Cole Walker is exactly the sort that Shannon wants to avoid – gorgeous, tattooed, charming, and cocky. But his rough exterior hides a good man – one who’s determined to pull Shannon from her self-imposed solitude and win her heart.

As Shannon begins to open up, the passion between them ignites to blazing levels. But when her past comes back to haunt her, her fears may destroy the trust Cole has built between them – and tear them apart for good . . .

Quickie Interview

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading BREAKING THE RULES by Katie McGarry. I’ve been lucky enough to receive an early copy. It comes out in the US in December and in the UK in January.

Will there be anymore Joss and Braden?

Readers can still catch up with J&B in ECHOES OF SCOTLAND STREET but there won’t be any more books from J&B’s perspective. Their story, their issues and heartache, have all been told. Now they’re living their happily ever after.

Are you working on anything outside of the On Dublin Street series right now?

I am! And I’m so excited by it! I just can’t say anything about it just yet…

Do you have a favourite place to write?

I’ll write anywhere as long as it’s quiet and I can totally immerse myself in my manuscript. However, I am known to be more productive if I lock myself away in my office to write.

Favourite childhood read?

Who is your favourite character from your own books and why? (very tough one!)

Ah, that is a tough one! It’s a struggle for me to pick between Joss and Olivia because both of them are very near and dear to me. I share a lot in common with the two of them and so willed them to have a happy ending. I think ultimately though, my new favourite is Cole Walker from ECHOES OF SCOTLAND STREET. He’s the perfect mix of sweet and sexy. I hope readers love him just as much as I do.

Which character has been the most difficult for you to write?

I found it difficult to write Shannon from ECHOES, just because of what she’s gone through in life. I had to put myself in her shoes and imagine what it would be like to have dealt with what she’s dealt with, and how that would affect her. It really was quite emotional.
