Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life. But all of that combined barely scratches the surface of her problems. Recent developments—and a few distressing prophesies—have forced her to become a responsible adult. Exactly the kind of adult she’s never aspired to be. To conquer such a monumental task, she’s decided to start small. Really small. She gets a pet. But how can she save the world against the forces of evil when she can’t even keep a goldfish alive?
A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

Queen of snark, Darynda Jones is back and better than ever! She never lets me down, never fails to make me snigger, get me hot and bothered and feel so many emotions in-between. Darynda is a real talent that I think everyone needs to experience for themselves.
So let me get this off my chest right now because I can’t keep it in any longer! I think I may…no, quite possibly have a girl crush on Miss Charley Davidson!! I mean… I just LOVE her! She’s sexy, snarky and full of fun and wit! I can never get enough of her and am always excited to delve into her next adventure. (okay, glad I got that all out)
This particular storyline sees Charley take on a more mature attitude to life, in preparation for things to come. It doesn’t work out for her too well though and there are some really hilarious moments. As usual Charley has a lot on her plate and things are manic. I see a lot of threads starting to knit together in this instalment – lets hope the end of the series isn’t in sight!
Another thing that really makes this series so awesome has to be it’s brilliant set of secondary characters! I truly care what happens to them and am always interested in finding out what they are up up. I really and truly need a friend like Cookie myself – she rocks!!
Seventh Grave and No Body is a very important book in a kick-butt series! It very nearly had it all, I just would of appreciated some of the little subplots solved. The romance is hotting up nicely and I’m always gagging for more Reyes action! Please give me more books Darynda… please!!
