7913569Summary From Goodreads

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared–the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in his own blood–but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.

The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude’s high school. Despite promising Jude she’ll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel’s shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry glint in his eyes.

The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boy’s dark secret…and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it–her soul.

My Review

This little beauty has been sitting on my bookshelf collecting dust for such a long time time….why oh why did I wait so long? This is a brilliant read that pulled me into a dark but very alluring world that I thoroughly enjoyed!

First we have a pastors daughter –  Her name is Grace Divine for goodness sake lol! She is a kick-ass main character; thoughtful, likable but not afraid to stray off the path to explore and do her own thing. When a mysterious boy walks back into her life again she starts to question why he left in the first place. She makes it her mission to discover what Daniel is hiding…but it stirs old feelings that she thought had been buried.

Daniel is a beautiful character that I quite easily found myself drawn to. He’s the brooding type that always seems to be keeping dark and dangerous secrets. The chemistry between Daniel and Grace is electric and sizzled right off the page- I really loved watching their relationship blossom.

This story line is tense and packed full of mystery and edge of your seat suspense. The twist was wonderfully different and I just couldn’t stop reading like a maniac! If your after a deadly mystery with a dark romance then look no further than The Dark Divine – it’s a page-turner!
