Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

Delightful chaos ensues when a young boy gets his kite stuck up a tree in this laugh-out-loud new picture book from award-winning, internationally best-selling author-illustrator Oliver Jeffers!

Floyd gets his kite stuck up a tree. He throws up his shoe to shift it, but that gets stuck too. So he throws up his other shoe and that gets stuck, along with… a ladder, a pot of paint, the kitchen sink, an orang-utan and a whale, amongst other things!

Will Floyd ever get his kite back?

A hilarious book with a wonderful surprise ending.

My Review

When you see Oliver Jeffers name on a book you can be guaranteed it will be brilliant and Stuck really is no exception to that rule.… Read more >>>

One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost

My Review

I love this series and Jeaniene Frost never fails to amaze me with every installment! I like that this one sees Cat and Bones not actually having any enemies after them but they throw themselves into a dangerous mission because they want to. As always Frost’s writing style is spot on and and the book has all the usual thrills, shockers and plenty of action. Just the way we like it, right? I don’t think I could ever get board with this amazing series, long may it continue!

Cat makes it her mission to rid the world of the torturous Heinrich Kramer, but how do you even kill a ghost?… Read more >>>

Hey guys,

I just wanted to do a little post and let you know that I am feeling very under the weather at the moment and because I am pregnant there is not a lot the doctors can give me. So unfortunately I just have to grit my teeth and bear it. It really sucks as I cannot even read as book or look at the computer for too long. I should be back blogging on Tuesday (fingers crossed) and I promise to get caught up on all your wonderful blog posts that I will miss reading. So I should see all you guys soon, thanks for supporting my blog 🙂

The Dryad Quartet by Katie Jennings - Release Day Party

A Life Earthbound blurb: (Book Three)

Her name was Rhiannon, and she was Earth.

She was graceful, intelligent, and undoubtedly a workaholic. She could put a crack in the Earth’s surface a mile wide and grow the loveliest flower ever to have existed right beside it, a contradiction she held with both reverence and pride. For she herself was something of a contradiction: a girl, seemingly free, but silently trapped within her own heart and mind, never to be released.

Or so she thought. She never wasted much time on impractical dreams or wishes she figured could never come true. But all her life one person has been there, a constant reminder of the true girl living behind her mask of cool indifference and solitude.… Read more >>>

, ,

‘If she’d waited less than two weeks, she’d be June who died in June. But I guess my sister didn’t consider that.’

There’s more to Frank than meets the eye…

A quirky, witty and utterly brilliant new picture book from the creator of Marshall Armstrong is New to our School.

Frank is your typical grandad, but no one has a grandad like him…

If you had to stand up and talk, for one whole minute, about a member of your family, who would you pick? Everyone else chooses really cool people, like Tom’s Uncle Marlon who plays drums in a band, or Hannah’s mum with her company car. But there’s nothing cool about grandad Frank… or is there?

My Review
The Frank Show is a fabulously illustrated book that is bold, quirky, colourful and attractive to look at.… Read more >>>
Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris

With Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), in town, it’s the worst possible time for a body to show up in Eric Northman’s front yard—especially the body of a woman whose blood he just drank.

Now, it’s up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time, the dead girl’s fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious than she would ever suspect, who’s out to make Sookie’s world come crashing down.
