Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood – Blog Tour!

Born Wicked (Cahill Witch Chronicles #1) by Jessica Spotswood

Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they’re witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship—or an early grave.

Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word… especially after she finds her mother’s diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family’s destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.

If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren’t safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood—not even from each other.

About the Author

Jessica Spotswood is a debut US author. She grew up in a tiny one-stoplight town in Pennsylvania. Now she lives in a gentrifying hipster neighbourhood in Washington, D.C. with her playwright husband and a cuddly cat named Monkey. Introduction to the main characters

Hi! For one of the features on my own blog, I ask authors to describe their main characters in 3 adjectives + a noun. I decided to use that method in describing my own characters for you. Mind you, these are descriptions from Cate’s point of view at the beginning of the book, so they’re biased:

Cate Cahill: bossy, stubborn, brave sister (from my pov)
protective, stifled, worried gardener (from her pov)

Maura Cahill: impulsive, romantic, yearning witch
Tess Cahill: clever, sweet, helpful sister

Mr. Cahill: absent, scholarly, clueless father

Finn Belastra: handsome, scholarly, progressive bookseller

Paul McLeod: mischievous, arrogant, flirtatious friend

Mrs. Corbett: horrid, nosy, lurking neighbor

Elena Robichaud: elegant, scheming, canny governess

Brother Ishida: awful, condescending, bullying Brother

Sachi Ishida: pretty, demure, cabbage-headed daughter

Rory Elliott: loud, laughing, bitter flirt

Brenna Elliott: spooky, sad, broken oracle
