Models, spies and lipstick gadgets… When Jessica’s father, a former spy, vanishes mysteriously, Jessica takes matters into her own hands. She’s not just a daddy’s girl who’s good at striking a pose; she’s a trained spook who knows how to take on MI6 and beat them at their own game.

Code Red Lipstick is a lightning quick read that is full of thrills, intrigue and lots of fun! I got fully wrapped up in the whole story and throughly enjoyed getting to know main character Jessica Cole!
Jessica’s father, an ex MI6 agent, who has taught her all the tricks in his book is missing. Only managing to make a code red before falling off the grid. Jessica needs to take matters into her own hands because nobody will believe her and they all think the worst of her father. I love that Jessica is a model, she’s not really your typical model and I really love her style – motorcycle boots and all!
Sarah Sky has very cleverly woven fashion and all things model worthy with secrets schemes and intrigue. I loved all of those hi-tec gadgets, that were of course all catwalk worthy (even if some are slightly on the unbelievable side but who cares). She has also managed to create a very down-to-earth main character who is relate-able and very likeable.
Every page is darkened with danger and nothing is ever certain. Jessica is left not knowing who to trust and everything is masked with suspicion – which I LOVED!
All in all I think Code Red Lipstick is a stand-out first book in what I expect will be a very interesting series. As soon as I’d finished I very quickly picked up the next book – Fashion Assassin! I’m officially hooked!
